Welcome to the Tintenbar to Ewingsdale upgrade website. The NSW Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) has selected the preferred route for the upgrade of the highway between Tintenbar and Ewingsdale. The project will link the Ballina bypass at Ross Lane to the existing dual carriageway at Ewingsdale. The Ballina bypass is under construction.

Under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment (EP&A) Act 1979, an application was submitted in April 2007 to the Department of Planning to seek the requirements for the environmental assessment of the project. The RTA has finalised the environmental assessment for the Tintenbar to Ewingsdale upgrade. The environmental assessment and refined concept design are on display for community comment. Submissions close on 31 October 2008
